The award winning, world-renowned, “Accordion Cowboy” Chris Rybak is once again a featured Western Days entertainer, performing on Sunday, October 17th, from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. This handsome young Hallettsville native delights crowds with his performances of Czech/German polkas, country ballads, gospel songs, and his unique, toe-tapping versions of Cajun and Tex-Mex music. In 1993, Chris received the New Dawn Award from the Texas Polka Association, with plans to compete for a National Grammy Award. Some of Chris´ influences include Hank Williams, Garth Brooks, Flaco Jimenez, Myron Floren, Floyd Cramer and George Strait. In 1999, Chris was honored to perform on opening night at the New Braunfels Wurstfest and at Myron Floren´s birthday party. Chris has also traveled to Europe, where he visited Germany, Austria, and Slovakia. It was in the beautiful country of Slovakia, where he did his entertaining, playing at two sold-out Country Disco Dances, and also having an interview on the Slovak National TV Station, TV Nasa.
