Brush Country Music JamboreeBrush Country Music Jamboree
The monthly Brush Country Music Jamboree will be held on Tuesday, March 1, beginning at 7:00 p.m. at the Live Oak Coliseum, halfway between George West and Three Rivers. The Jamboree will celebrate “100 years of Bob Wills,” in observance of the 100th anniversary of Bob Wills´ birth on March 6, 1905. Wills was born in Kosse, Texas and was one of the most popular entertainers in the history of music. He developed the music we refer to as “Western Swing.” He died in May of 1975. The entire Jamboree will be Bob Wills’s songs. Guest performers will be singer/accordion player Chris Rybak of Austin; Billy Mata of San Antonio, ( will also have his new CD “Traditionally Yours” for sale at the Jamboree ); fiddler/singer Bobby Flores of Blanco; Casey Burr of Corpus Christi; and David and Megan Treadway of El Campo. The Jamboree is sponsored by the Live Oak County Fair Association and all net proceeds go towards their youth scholarship fund. Busses and vans are welcome. FMI: call Jerry Retzloff at 361-786-3334.
