Brush Country Music Jamboree to host final performanceBrush Country Music Jamboree to host final performance
The Brush Country Music Jamboree will be held Tuesday, Sept. 6, at 7 p.m. at the Live Oak County Coliseum. Headlining the program will be super accordion player/singer Chris Rybak of Austin. Also appearing on the show will be super fiddler Bobby Flores of Blanco, who will play twin fiddles with Joe Nixon the entire program. Other guests will be Bobby´s brother, Greg Flores; Elvis Presley impersonator Rob Carter of New Braunfels; and comedienne Charlotte “Beulah Mae” Maples of Agua Dulce. This will be the last Brush Country Music Jamboree program, at least for the time being. Due to the rising cost of gasoline, the crowds have dwindled sufficiently in the past year, to where it is no longer economically feasible to have the program, according to Jerry Retzloff, publicity chairman. The cost is $4 per person. For more information, call Retzloff at 786-3334.
