Two country music shows held monthly in Refugio
Country music is so big in South Texas, two shows are held monthly in Refugio. The Refugio Country Opry is the first Thursday of the month and the Refugio County Jamboree is the last Thursday.
The Jamboree celebrates its 14th season of shows this year and the Country Opry, its third. Both shows are held at the Refugio county Community Center on Swift Street in Refugio.
Both shows have a $4 fee and offer snacks, sandwiches, drinks and homemade pastries.
Proceeds from the Opry go to scholarships and the Jamboree uses its funds for upgrades at the community center.
